Alison’s Story

“Having tried (and failed) in the past to get back into running by myself I decided to join the Couch to 5k group training organised by DVRC last year. Members of the group were very friendly and the DVRC Coaches were enthusiastic, encouraging and very knowledgeable. There was quite a wide range of ages, abilities and experience within the group. There was no pressure to join the Running Club but I’m very happy that I did. DVRC is a friendly, welcoming and very inclusive club and will encourage and support runners of all abilities. Since completing the course I’ve continued to enjoy running and have ran several Saturday morning 5k Parkruns.”

Doug’s story

“I completed the Couch to 5k with Derwent Valley Running Club last year. The course was ran expertly, with time and patience for all abilities. For this limited runner it has been the perfect introduction to running for me. It really helped me physically, mentally and emotionally.

The support from leaders and fellow c25k members has been amazing, leading me to the next step. DVRC is a friendly inclusive club. I know from experience that the first step is the hardest – I’m so glad I took it to the c25k team as the club are right there with you. I can’t thank them all and everyone in my group enough. I have certainly made friends for life.”
