We’re a small, friendly club of mixed abilities and ages, joined together by our love of running.

During our summer evening sessions, we sometimes change our meeting points to make the most of our lovely surroundings. Check our Where page for up-to-date info on where we’re meeting each week.

New for September 2017: Absolute Beginners running club

Want to get fit outdoors?  Always fancied giving running a go?  Not been running for ages? We start a new eight-week beginners course on Monday 4 September at 7pm. It could be just for you. Visit our Absolute Beginners page to find out how you can take part.

About us

We meet in Rowlands Gill and train in Gateshead’s beautiful Derwent Valley, part of the Land of Oak & Iron.

We have training session throughout the week, as well as regular social runs.

We are affiliated to England Athletics and our members enjoy running in road, trail, cross-country and fell races. Some of us do 5ks, some of us do marathons, some of us even get our kicks from ultras and triathlons.

New members are always welcome, whatever your ability. So what are you waiting for?

George Ogle Memorial Race 2017

We hold an annual race in the Derwent Valley.  Results for 2017 are available on line. Visit our George Ogle Race pages  for more information.
