Absolute Beginners group

Our current course is almost completed. If you would like to know more about getting started with running and how we could help, please get in touch with us.

Always wanted to run, but never tried? Been away from running for a while? Are you 12 or over? Then our Absolute Beginners group is for you.

The sessions will be guaranteed fun and the goal after eight weeks, depending on individuals, is to run five kilometers without stopping.

You’ll keep a running diary, be encouraged to do a bit of ‘running’ homework and receive a DVRC certificate on completion.  If you get the bug, you can join our club to continue your running journey.

New Absolute Beginners course

When: Mondays 7pm start (approx. 45 min session)

Where: Derwent Walk car park, off Stirling Lane, Rowlands Gill. For details of the meeting point click here

£10 for the eight-week course. This would be deducted from your DVRC membership fee if you became a member at the end of the course, so you can join our other weekly sessions (full price: £35 per year).

Please note: Under 16s to be accompanied by an adult.

The course is led by run leaders who joined us as beginners too, so know just how it feels to get started!
